CJ's new Operations Director
Last week Cozmo mentioned something big he had to tell you. Well... Construction Junction has a new Operations Director and the staff and board couldn't be more thrilled!! Shannon Clover was our Venture Advisor at the Social Innovation Accelerator and clearly, over the last year, learned to love CJ so much that she just had to come work for us.
Shannon began her career with The Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan, where she created a women's community and economic development NGO and focused on sustainable economic development. She's a self admitted box checker which is JUST WHAT WE NEED and says she can drive a tractor trailer, although tends to get a little confused after gear 13. Don't worry... we'll keep her off the road. Most importantly, Shannon 1) thinks CJ is the coolest place in town and wants to make sure that everyone else thinks so too, 2) is totally psyched about joining the CJ team and 3) can't wait to help make the organization a leader in Pittsburgh and beyond.
Welcome aboard Shannon! We're a lucky bunch.
The CJ Buzz
Over the next two weeks we'll be getting in an outdoor Jacuzzi brand tub. Perfect timing for the summer weather. We'll also be getting in at least six kitchen sets... likely even more.
A few weeks ago, in our 5/26 - 6/1 High Volume Matchmaking e-Blast, we mentioned a large volume of brick we'd be acquiring. We have been talking with a number of folks who'd be interested in purchasing this brick in large volumes (5,000 or more brick at a time). Again, please email Brian Swearingen at bswearingen@constructionjunction.org if you'd like to make a large volume purchase.
This brick is at least 80 years old (made "before the war") and likely weighs between 6 - 8 lbs each. You must be able to receive it in large volumes and be located within the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
If you're looking for brick in smaller quantities then come to the store. We have loose brick available for purchase from another project. We expect to be getting that in today... Friday June 13th. Oooooohhh... spooky.

CJ Q&A
Hello, I am interested in finding an entry door 84"X36" (craftsmans style if possible). Do you notify individuals if one becomes available or do I need to go to your location? I live approximately 1 hr away from Pittsburgh and it would be difficult to visit on a regular basis on the off chance that something might turn up. Second, I see you have memberships. Is a membership required to visit and/or purchase building material from your organization? Thank you. -- Karen
Hi Karen. We're dreaming of the day when we can notify customers that an item they've wished for has come in, but alas we can't do it yet. We do our best to keep a log of what people ask for and then include said items in the weekly e-Blast if they do in fact come in. So the best thing to do is to sign up for our e-Blast or watch our website regularly. In general, new inventory arrivals are posted every Friday.
In regards to your second question... we don't really have a membership program, but rather only a membership button on our website. Although we're in the process of considering a membership program, our store will always and forever be, open to the public... member or not. Hope this helps. -- Cozmo
